TOPEKA (KSNT) – The City of Topeka is rolling out a revamped online map system to make city maps and geospatial information more accessible for locals.
The city’s new interactive online map system aims to modernize its website by transitioning the Geographic Information System Hub into a dedicated “.gov” domain, where city geospatial information is centralized. The GIS Hub consists of geographic information about the city, along with city maps and applications.
The rollout of the GIS Hub also adds a downloadable maps page with city information like council districts, tax district maps and city reference material that can be downloaded by the public, according to a press release from the City of Topeka. The website will also curate pages dedicated to highlighting maps that relate to major city functions such as Public Works, Utilities and Planning.

By centralizing public maps and applications in a single modern Hub, the City is taking an important step toward improving digital services and public engagement.”
