TOPEKA (KSNT) – Local families and children will soon be able to enjoy brand-new playground equipment at Topeka’s Gage Park.
Shawnee County Parks and Recreation is installing lots of new playground equipment at Gage Park’s Playland area this year. As of this week, park staff report that all footings for the new elevated trail section are now complete.
Shawnee County commissioners approved a $1.28 million contract with RCI Adventure Products to install the new elevated trail in January last year. The new trail, consisting of raised platforms connected by rope bridges, is set to offer local children and families new opportunities to have fun at the park.
Workers are replacing older pieces of equipment at the Playland area with new pieces as part of a general overhaul at Gage Park. The nearby Animaland area is not included in this work.
