TOPEKA (KSNT) – The City of Topeka has installed new safety and educational amenities near the river weir and boat ramps in an area in north Topeka.
The City of Topeka announced in a social media post on Feb. 16 that a new life jacket station and an informational safety kiosk were placed in the area near the boat ramps off of Northwest Warren Street for river users to access.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks funded the materials and signage of the kiosks through a grant. The nonprofit conservation organization, Friends of the Kaw, installed the signs in partnership with the Evergy Green Team, according to the city.
