TOPEKA (KSNT) – A new bookstore specializing in a blend of fantasy and romance books is now open for visitors in west Topeka.
Ivy and Ink officially marked its soft opening on Feb. 12 at the Seabrook Shopping Center in Topeka. Local readers can expect to find plenty of “romantasy” books on the shelves to take care of any present reading obsessions or pick up a candle and some coffee while enjoying the store’s cozy atmosphere.
Becky Yokiel, owner of Ivy and Ink, shared with 27 News her vision for what she hopes people feel when they step inside her bookstore.
Moon will turn dark red over the US next month, here’s why
“Definitely wanted people to feel something when they walk into the store,” Yokiel said. “Other than just coming here to buy things, I just wanted it to feel different than anywhere else you would go in town, maybe where it feels magical and whimsical and like maybe you are stepping into a book a little bit.”

Yokiel said she plans to eventually offer a “shop and talk” featuring a different book each month. In addition to books, Ivy and Ink also sells other merchandise like bookmarks, stickers, tea, t-shirts, cookies and more.
You can find Ivy and Ink at 2005 Southwest Gage Blvd. in Topeka. For more information, you can call the store at 785-806-1322, follow it on Facebook or visit its website.
