TOPEKA (KSNT) – Shawnee County jury reached a verdict on Friday finding a man guilty of second-degree murder in a deadly shooting last year.
Devin Miller, 30, was found guilty of the murder of Olivia Miller, 51 of Topeka, after a shooting on Feb. 7, 2025 at the 2700 block of SW Burnett Road in Topeka. Miller was accused of shooting his mother and father and was reported to have experienced mental health issues after someone had called 911.
According to District Attorney Michael F. Kagay, the jury trial for began on Feb. 17 and concluded with the conviction of Miller. A jury found Miller guilty of one count of second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery.
Sentencing will be scheduled in a later date.
