TOPEKA (KSNT) – Cox Communications awarded more than $68,000 to schools across Kansas to support classroom programs and upgrades in an announcement on Thursday.
Employees at Cox Communications, through the Cox Charities Education Grant Program, funded $68,000 in grants for 36 teachers across schools in Kansas. Cities for the selected schools that were awarded grant money include Topeka, Manhattan, Wichita, Sterling, Junction City and Fort Riley amongst others.
Some of the schools that received grant money and the programs the grants are awarded for include:
- Junction City Middle School for literacy centers, flexible seating and for a gaga ball pit
- Dwight D. Eisenhower for “Printing Pride: A Stem School Spirit Initiative”
- Fort Riley Middle School for a student podcast
- Williams Science and Fine Arts Magnet School for astronomy
More than 100 applications for the grant were reviewed, according to Director of Communications for Cox Christine Martin. The $68,000 are in addition to $150,000 for the Cos Charities Investment grants that were awarded to 26 Kansas nonprofits in August 2025.
