JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) – The Junction City Fire Department reported $100,000 in damages after firefighters responded to a structure fire on Sunday.
Firefighters responded to a structure fire at around 5:45 p.m. on March 8 at 1537 West Ash Street in Junction City in an apartment complex. The Junction City Fire Department requested mutual aid from the Fort Riley Fire Department and the Geary County Fire Department.
The JCFD said all six apartment units in the building were impacted and the fire caused 13 occupants to be displaced. The initial damage estimates are around $100,000 in fire and smoke damage.

The American Red Cross assisted displaced residents with temporary housing and essential needs. No serious injuries were reported, according to JCFD Fire Chief Jason Lankas.
