TOPEKA (KSNT) A local Topeka organization is giving back to the community with their 22nd Children’s Consignment event.
The consignment store, Rhea Lana’s, has been to West Ridge Mall doing this event every season for the past 11 years. Over the next few days, there will be over 5,000 customers expected walking through the endless supply of gently used, hand-checked, high-quality and reasonably priced infant clothes and other items.
“Right now in our economy, resale is hot. Families are trying to cut corners everywhere they can, and they know that they can always count on really great deals on extremely gently used items or even like new. Sunday, the 22nd, we host a free event for local foster families and military E-5 and below,” said Amber Bartel, owner of Rhea Lana’s. “[Customers] come in from the donated items and select what they want and after that is over, Be Filled of South Topeka, comes and gets all the things that are leftover to fulfill their center.”
This year’s selection is 60% larger than last springs. It’s first-come, first-serve and the event will continue until March 21.
