TOPEKA (KSNT) – Firefighters battled a house fire in central Topeka Tuesday morning.
The Topeka Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 10:04 a.m. in the area of Southwest 19th Street and Southwest Oakley Avenue on March 31. Firefighters at the scene report the fire started on the exterior of the home.

Kimberly Qualls with the City of Topeka said that no injuries were reported and that smoke detectors were found in the structures. The TFD told 27 News that residents inside the house were able to self-evacuate. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the city.
