TOPEKA (KSNT) – Workers are busy installing new equipment at Topeka’s Gage Park that is set to be open this summer.
The new Skytrail at Gage Park is coming together this spring. Workers are putting the pieces of this new Playland upgrade in place, which includes the addition of a brand new zip line for kids to enjoy.
Shawnee County Parks and Recreation (SCP+R) reports that many parts of the new Skytrail are already in place. However, many hours of work are still needed before families and children can start playing on it.
“Because it spans the entire playground, we do know this is going to be a long process; we are getting everything in and making sure everything lines up properly but once it is done it will be really, really cool,” Gilfillan said.
Pools opening soon in and around Topeka for summer 2026
SCP+R anticipates the project to be wrapped up by this summer. You can find Gage Park at 635 SW Gage Blvd. in west Topeka.
