EMPORIA (KSNT) – This year, we are celebrating America’s 250th Birthday, and one local university is highlighting its city.
Emporia State University’s special collections and archives opened its doors Tuesday, April 21 to Across Town, Across America: Emporia on the National Stage exhibit. Working for you, 27 News took a trip down to Emporia to talk to Rebekah Curry, public services provider at ESU’s Library and Archives, about what kind of things people can expect.
“We have a lot of informational panels highlighting the different topics we’re discussing, like for instance, Emporia is the founding city of Veterans Day or Emporia State having the first library school west of the Mississippi,” Curry said. “We’ve also got some artifacts connecting to some of that information that comes from our collections.”
