TOPEKA (KSNT) – Have you ever considered a future in delivering mail in your community?
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is hiring for multiple open positions in Kansas at an upcoming job fair. USPS spokeswoman Tara Jarrett said there are opening for the following types of workers:
- City carrier assistant – $20.23 an hour
- Rural carrier assistant – $20.38 an hour
- Postal support employee – $20.48 an hour

“We are excited to announce [our] upcoming job fair this Tuesday, the 28th,” said USPS spokeswoman Tara Jarrett in a statement to 27 News. “This is a great opportunity for community members to meet employees from the Topeka Post Office and learn more about current job openings. The Postal Service is an excellent place to build a career. With nearly 250 years of service, we have never had a layoff. We also offer competitive benefits, including paid vacation and health insurance.”
USPS staff will be on site for the job fair to assist job seekers and give more information about what each position is like. The USPS will only be accepting applications online though, with people who are interested in joining the service needing to complete it by clicking here. All applicants must be at least 18 years old and be available to work on holidays and weekends.
Postal service officials will be holding the job fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 at the Topeka Post Office located at 1410 NW Gage Blvd. For more information about how to apply for a job with the USPS, click here.
