TOPEKA (KSNT) — Over 1,100 people are expected to fill up Washburn University’s Lee Arena Thursday to address affordable housing and homelessness in Shawnee County, according to Topeka Justice, Unity & Ministry Project (JUMP).
JUMP will be hosting its annual Nehemiah Action Assembly at 6:30 p.m. on April 30 at 1901 SW Mulvane St. in Topeka. The meeting is open to all members of the public and will feature discussions on affordable housing and homelessness in the community.
City council representatives Michelle Bradberry and David Banks, and Topeka Capital Peace Project’s Courtland Davis will be in attendance. The organization will also recognize Topeka Chief of Police Chris Vallejo for his work following last year’s assembly.
