TOPEKA (KSNT) – The regular season is in the books on the softball diamond.
Kansas softball (34-18, 14-10 Big 12) lost its regular season finale against No. 13 Oklahoma State (37-14, 16-8 Big 12) 7-0 to lose the series.
The Jayhawks managed only one hit in the loss, provided by Ava Wallace, compared to nine from the Cowgirls.
Lila Partridge took the loss inside the circle for the Jayhawks. Through 2.1 innings, she allowed five hits and five runs while recording one strikeout.
Blakely Barber and Samantha Claire each pitched in relief. Barber gave up four hits and two runs through 2.1 innings. She walked four and struck out two. Claire pitched 1.1 scoreless innings.
The Jayhawks turn its attention to the Big 12 Tournament beginning on May 7.
Kansas is the No. 5 seed and will play No. 4 UCF at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Knights took the series against the Jayhawks 2-1 in April.
