KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A kayaker who disappeared from Clinton Lake on Sunday evening has been found dead, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies reported that on Monday morning, divers located the body of a 20-year-old Olathe man in Clinton Lake.
The man, who has yet to be identified, was kayaking near the Clinton Marina at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday when witnesses saw the man go under the water after his kayak tipped over.

Rescue and recovery teams with the sheriff’s office were called to the scene to help find the man, but suspended their search at about 9 p.m. due to darkness.
The search continued at daylight Monday morning, which is when they found the missing 20-year-old boater.
At this time, the victim has not been named.
