TOPEKA (KSNT) – Police and firefighters were at the scene of a reported vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in downtown Topeka Monday morning.
Officers with the Topeka Police Department and personnel with the Topeka Fire Department were in the area of Southeast Third Street and South Kansas Avenue around 9:40 a.m. on May 11.
Police at the scene told a 27 News reporter that a vehicle hit a man who was trying to walk across the road at a cross walk. Medical personnel are assessing the condition of the victim.
Kimberly Qualls with the City of Topeka said medical personnel took the man to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate this incident.
