OSAGE CITY (KSNT) – Residents around Osage City have regained X-ray services after equipment shut down in 2022.
Stormont Vail Health announced on Sept. 4 that it has remodeled its imaging department which now features new X-ray equipment at its clinic in Osage City. The funding for the project comes from the Stormont Vail Foundation and the Walter S. & Evan C. Jones Testamentary Trust.
“Healthcare access is a critical issue for rural communities, and having services available close to home can make a meaningful difference for patients and families,” said Amy Burns, director and president of the Stormont Vail Foundation in a press release. “The return of X-ray services in Osage City means residents can receive an important diagnostic service in their own community, reducing travel and helping connect patients to care more quickly.
Healthcare officials said for many rural residents, access to diagnostic imaging can be an important factor in receiving timely care. The services allow patients to work more closely with their local care team.
“Bringing X-ray services back to Osage City is a meaningful investment to the health and well-being of our community,” said Katie Hodge, city manager for Osage City in a press release. “We greatly appreciate Stormont Vail’s continued commitment to Osage City and its recognition that accessible healthcare is an important part of a strong and thriving community.”
