TOPEKA (KSNT) – Officials have identified the victim of a recent north Topeka mobile home park fire.
Kimberly Qualls with the City of Topeka said the victim of the fire was Alexander Honea, nine, of Topeka. She did not comment on the condition of the other fire victims who suffered injuries during the incident. You can make monetary donations to the Honea family by heading to GoFundMe.
27 News talked to the creator of the fundraiser Christina Carpenter, and she emphasized the overwhelming support from the community.
“We raised over $12,000 dollars in a little over 24 hours,” Carpenter said. “We loved that the community was able to come together and shower the family with love and support them with financial aid in their time of need.”
As of Wednesday, the GoFundMe, currently stands over $14,000. Monetary donations can also be made on CashApp at $GiggleSue and Venmo at CoffeeCrossingKS.

Honea died as a result of a fire first reported at around 4 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the 100 block of Northeast Coachlight Drive in north Topeka. Multiple other people, including two Topeka police officers and a firefighter, were also injured during this fire. The firefighter and officers were later cleared to return to work on Sept. 8.
Two other residents of the home suffered life-threatening injuries during this fire, according to officials. Another individual from the home also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Both Topeka Police Chief Chris Vallejo and Topeka Fire Chief Chad Longstaff applauded the efforts of the firefighters, officers and bystanders who stepped in to help during this fire situation.
