TOPEKA (KSNT) – Law enforcement reports at least one person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash south of Topeka on Highway 75 Thursday.
Kimberly Qualls with the City of Topeka told 27 News that officers are working at the scene of an injury crash on Highway 75 which has resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes at Southwest 57th Street. She said the scene remains active as of 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 10 and many first responders are in the area.

A spokeswoman for the Kansas Highway Patrol confirms at least one person is dead as a result of this crash.
A 27 News reporter at the scene said multiple vehicles are involved in this crash and that one other person is seriously injured.

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is reporting significant traffic delays in the area of the crash on KanDrive.gov. Police are asking drivers to avoid this section of the highway while they work at the crash site.
