TOPEKA (KSNT) – An official with the Topeka Metro reports that ongoing construction work is impacting two bus routes in south Topeka.
A spokesperson for the Topeka Metro shared in a press release on Sept. 11 that construction work in the area of Southwest 37th Street and Southwest Topeka Boulevard is resulting in blockages or partial closures for two of its bus routes. The routes include route #5 – Indiana and route #7 Washburn.
Officials with the Topeka Metro are encouraging bus riders and local residents that several other construction projects in this area are impacting regular bus stops. This work could result in temporary detours, delays or other changes to the services the Topeka Metro offers.
Topeka Metro staff are working with the City of Topeka regarding updates to its bus routes as this construction work continues. Passengers are encouraged to check the Topeka Metro website or My Transit Ride regularly for the latest route changes and updates.
“Topeka Metro apologizes for any inconvenience, changes, or delays that may result from the unpredictable nature of construction activity in the area. We appreciate our passengers’ patience and understanding as construction projects continue.”
