TOPEKA (KSNT) – Evergy reports that many residents and businesses in north Topeka were without power Monday afternoon due to a fallen tree limb.
Evergy reported via its website that just over 1,200 of its customers were experiencing a power outage. The power company first reported the outage shortly before 3:05 p.m. on Sept. 14. Areas included in the outage were primarily in north Topeka and the Oakland area.
Courtney Lewis, a spokeswoman for Evergy, told 27 News that a large tree limb fell on a power line, causing the outage. She said Evergy removed the limb and restored power by 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 14.
