POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY (KSNT) – Law enforcement reports a local teen is dead following a crash near St. Marys.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff Doug Adams said in a press release that deputies responded to a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle crash shortly after 6:40 a.m. on Sept. 18 near Highway 63 and Doyle Creek Road north of St. Marys. First responders arriving at the scene found the crash involved two vehicles: a 2003 Honda Civic and a 2011 Chevy Impala.
Adams said the driver of the Honda was traveling south on Highway 63 while the driver of the Chevy was heading north. He said the driver of the Impala appeared to have crossed the center line and hit the southbound Honda.
Medical personnel transported the driver of the Chevy, a 23-year-old man from Ogden, to a hospital in Topeka for care of his serious injuries. The driver of the Honda, identified as Alyssa Mullins, 18, of Onaga, was life-flighted from the scene to a Topeka hospital but later declared dead.
