PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (KSNT) — A local golfer won it all at the historic Pebble Beach Golf Course.
Manhattan’s Charlie Haney won the pro-junior boys’ title at the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach on Sunday.
The PGA Tour Champions event pairs golf legends and First Tee juniors for a week of competition and mentorship at one of the world’s most iconic golf courses.
Haney was paired with Rory Sabbatini. Haney and Sabbatini won the tournament at 22-under.
They shot a final-round 59 as he won the pro-junior boys’ trophy by one stroke.
Haney is a junior at Manhattan High School and is committed to play at Ole Miss. He is currently ranked No. 32 in the AJGA rankings.
He spent a lot of time with legendary K-State golfer, Jim Colbert, who passed away earlier this year.
