TOPEKA (KSNT) – City officials report that part of Southwest MacVicar Avenue is closed in Topeka due to a waterline break.
Joseph Harrington with the City of Topeka said in a press release that southbound Southwest MacVicar Avenue is closed between Southwest 16th Street and Southwest 17th Street. He said the closure is due to a broken waterline in the area.
Harrington said the closure is anticipated to remain in place until the end of the week. Drivers heading south on Southwest MacVicar Avenue will be directed to take a detour route that uses Southwest 12th Street, Southwest Gage Boulevard and Southwest 17th Street.
