MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Police in Manhattan are warning people to watch for falling rocks on a local roadway Thursday amid continued rainy weather.
Officers with the Riley County Police Department posted a warning on social media shortly before 12:20 p.m. on Oct. 1 about hazard caused by falling rocks in Manhattan at or near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Casement Road. Police said the hazard appears to be related to heavy rainfall in the area.
Police said an officer is directing traffic and restricting lane use while Kansas Department of Transportation crews respond. Law enforcement encourages people to adjust their speed accordingly while rainy weather persists and to increase following distance while on the road.
