TOPEKA (KSNT) – A southeast Kansas woman was injured in a Tuesday morning I-70 crash just east of Topeka.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers report the crash happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 20 on the Kansas Turnpike westbound at mile-marker 184. The crash only involved one vehicle: a 2015 Lincoln MKX.
Troopers said the driver of the Lincoln was heading west on I-70 when she swerved to avoid hitting an abandoned boat on the right shoulder of the highway. The driver reportedly overcorrected, losing control of her vehicle and crashing into the right ditch.
KHP personnel said the driver, a 30-year-old woman from Galesburg, had minor injuries due to the crash. Medical personnel transported her to a nearby hospital. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
