KANSAS CITY, Mo.– Reporters from all over the country and quite frankly the globe are covering the Kansas U.S. Senate Race between Republican Incumbent Roger Marshall and Democratic challenger Roger Marshall.
REPLAY: Sen. Roger Marshall debates Adam Hamilton in US Senate race
Outlets from France and Japan were at FOX4 Wednesday night to cover the debate between the two candidates.
After it, the reporters we talked to said Pastor Hamilton tried to tie Marshall to some of President Trump’s policies that are unpopular right now.
The President was in Park City, Kansas, Monday campaigning for Marshall, but as our Nexstar, Emerson College, The Hill poll from September showed, President Trump is underwater in the Sunflower State. 40% of the respondents viewed him as favorable while 43% do not.
NewsNation’s Mills Hayes was in Johnson County, Kansas, Wednesday talking to voters about how they’re feeling about this race.
“Democrats, the voters in that party, they told us they cared about gas prices, diesel prices, the war and when it was going to end,” she said in an interview with FOX4 after Thursday night’s debate. “Now, Republicans, we continued to hear from them about border security, immigration. That was what they were really concerned about. They did tell me they were concerned about the economy, but they feel like Marshall’s plan of tax cuts and also boosting domestic energy production would get us closer to that goal than perhaps what they’re hearing from Hamilton.”

Hamilton knows he’ll have lots of support in the eastern part of the state where he founded the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, the largest United Methodist Church in the country.
Johnson County makes up just more than a fifth of the state’s population.
