MANHATTAN (KSNT) – City officials in the Little Apple are making adjustments to the parking rates at the newly constructed Aggieville Parking Garage this April.

Manhattan City commissioners approved a request from the Aggieville Building Association to adjust parking rates from Wednesday, April 17 though 2028 to help employees and visitors while public and private construction projects impact public parking in the area. This new decision will make parking free from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for those with license plate registration.

These adjustments are expected to have a $12,000-$15,000 negative impact in lost revenue on an annual basis, according to a city staff report. The following rate adjustments are also being made for parking at other times:

  • For the first hour of a parking session:
    • $0.25 for up to 15 minutes
    • $0.50 for up to 30 minutes
    • $1 for up to one hour
  • After the first hour, the rate is $2 per hour up to the $10 daily maximum.

Visitors at the parking garage who don’t have a permit or reserved parking will be required to register their license plate number upon arrival using the ParkMobile app or a pay station. This new resolution also reinforces practices allowing for group rates and monthly parking permits.
