CHEYENNE COUNTY (KSNT) – On Monday, a 76-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man from Atwood died after rolling their vehicle in Cheyenne County.

At 6 p.m., the 76-year-old woman was driving a 2007 Ford F350 north on Highway 161. The passenger side tires went into the ditch and the driver tried to maneuver back onto the road. They crossed both lanes of traffic, went into a ditch and started turning sideways, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.

The vehicle rolled, coming to a rest on its top. The driver and passenger were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the KHP crash log.

Both the driver and male passenger were taken to an area hospital where they were later pronounced dead. Their next of kin was notified, according to the crash log.
