ALMA (KSNT) – On Tuesday, a puppy named Potato got away from its owners in the Flint Hills area, the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office (WBSO) was called to assist in the search.

“Yesterday in Wabaunsee County Kansas, a sleepy place nestled in the beautiful Flint Hills, a puppy named POTATO (for real) got loose from his owners as they took a break from long interstate travel,” the WBSO wrote on social media.

The sheriff’s office said they located Potato with assistance from area residents and gave him lots of love, treats, a tennis ball and “cuddles from Otis the Drunk, our regular drunk & disorderly friend in cell 5 before being reunited with his owners!”

After locating the puppy, the sheriff’s office booked the runaway rover on charges of fleeing/eluding law enforcement and “being irresistibly adorable”. Barker, Potato was listed as being a flight risk.

“27MAR24, bonded out on two milk bones & released to owners,” the sheriff’s office wrote on social media.
