Wamego (KSNT) – A funeral service is planned for Anna Miller, 58, of Westmoreland who died in the EF3 tornado that hit Westmoreland on Tuesday, April 30.

“Ann was the welcoming face of the Health Department for many years. She was a good neighbor and a good friend to everyone. We miss her and will be here to support her family during this difficult time,” Pottawatomie County Public Information Officer Becky Ryan said.

Miller’s visitation will start at 4 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. Monday, May 13 at Trinity Baptist Church of Wamego at 16655 Highway 24. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 14 at the same location.

Miller was the youngest of four siblings and was born in September 1965. She attended Westmoreland High School where she met her former husband. After graduating in 1984 she welcomed a son to the family and later, in 1996, she had a daughter, according to Miller’s obituary.

Miller was a prominent member of the Westmoreland community, serving as an administrative professional for the Pottawatomie County Health Department for 28 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was often the life of the party with her sarcasm, quick wit and infectious laugh, the obituary said.

Ann was a loyal friend who chose to see the best in others and was always willing to help someone in need. Those who knew her well also saw her soft heart for animals, as she cared for many pets throughout the years including her most beloved and greatly missed Chihuahua, Bella.
