KANSAS (KSNT) – Kansas Tourism is announcing more than 220 tourist attractions are participating in a program providing information on attractions across the state.

The 2024 Sunflower Summer program is kicking off May 25 and will run through Aug. 11. The program saw a 97% increase in participating tourism attractions from last year.

Families can participate by downloading the Sunflower Summer app. Participants can use the app to claim tickets to various venues during the 2024 season.

“The Sunflower Summer program plays a pivotal role in making in-state travel affordable for Kansas families,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “It offers amazing opportunities for parents to nurture their children’s love for travel and appreciation for our incredible state and everything it has to offer.”

Venues include museums, discovery centers, historic sites, arboretums, water parks, amusement parks, zoos, guided trolley tours, live theater events and professional sports events.

The Sunflower Summer app has a passport that allows participants to track where they have visited on their adventures. Once a location is selected, tickets can be claimed within the app. When attendees are ready to enter, the ticket can be activated and presented to the ticket taker.

You can download the Sunflower Summer app on iOS and Android starting May 1. For a list of participating locations, click here.
