TOPEKA (KSNT) – Seaman High School is welcoming in a new principal for the next school year.

Seaman School District announced in a press release on April 16 that Brad Jones will serve as the new principal for the high school starting July 29, 2024. He brings with him more than 20 years of experience in education and a passion for positive school culture.

Jones will be focusing on staff retention and development in his role as principal. In the past, he has successfully put in place initiatives to reduce staff turnover rates and increase job satisfaction. He places additional emphasis on collaboration, inclusivity and empowerment in the workplace.

“I am genuinely excited for the opportunity to lead Seaman High School as its next High School Principal and to contribute to its continued growth and success,” Jones said. “I am eager to bring my passion for educational leadership, my dedication to building a positive culture, and my commitment to staff retention to the Viking community.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Brad Jones as Seaman High School’s new Principal,” said Superintendent Brad Willson. “His blend of life experiences shows his commitment and dedication to serve and I am confident Mr. Jones will undoubtedly enhance the success for all students and staff with integrity, enthusiasm and excellence.”

The current principal for Seaman High School, Dr. Laura Lyons, put in her resignation in March. She was named the principal of the school in April 2021.
