What We’re Tracking

  • Pleasant weather for Wednesday
  • Numerous rain/storm chances ahead
  • Unsettled weather for the weekend

The wind relaxes a bit through the night and into tomorrow, so we get to enjoy at least a day without breezy conditions for Wednesday! Highs for the next couple of days will be in the lower 70s. Overnight temperatures will be a bit cool tonight in the lower to middle 40s.

Things get more active by the end of the week with a stronger southerly wind and increasing cloud cover by Thursday. The next best chance for showers and storms moves in by late Wednesday and into Thursday as the first of two upper level systems begins to move in. There may be some strong or severe storms Thursday in our far western counties, but the better chance to see that kind of activity will be in Western Kansas and down into Oklahoma and Texas.

We’ll have another chance for storms Friday afternoon and evening as the system continues to move eastward. More of these may end up being strong or even severe across Eastern Kansas, but we’ll keep you updated as we get a bit closer as there’s still time for things to change.

By the end of the week our temperatures will eventually make it into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Additional rounds of storms are also possible for Saturday and Sunday afternoon/evening hours. There are some indications that the strongest storms may occur on Saturday, but with numerous rounds of rain ahead of that, several factors may change before then.
