TOPEKA (KSNT) – A bridge project will see SW Washburn Avenue close for one month.

Starting on April 1, SW Washburn Avenue will be closed from SW 26th Street to SW Shunga Drive. The project is slated to end on May 1, 2024 unless there are weather delays.

A detour will be provided for southbound traffic starting at SW 21st Street. Drivers will travel to SW Topeka Boulevard then drive south to SW 29th Street, then turn west to SW Burlingame Road.

For northbound traffic, drivers can turn east on SW 29th Street and drive to SW Topeka Boulevard, then drive north to SW 21st Street. From there, turn west and drive to SW Washburn Avenue.
