Rebel Wilson Reveals She Was Kidnapped at Gunpoint

Rebel Wilson has revealed that she was once kidnapped at gunpoint by a group of men and held overnight in the middle of nowhere. The actress made the shocking revelation in an interview with former Royal Marines Commando Ant Middleton in the latest episode of his “Straight Talking” series for Sky One.

“There was one time in Africa where I got kidnapped,” she told Middleton when asked what her most fearful situation was, according to Sky News. Wilson explained that she had been traveling in a truck with a group of women in Mozambique when several men in another truck “with a lot of guns” pulled up beside them and demanded they get off the vehicle.

“They took us to this house in the middle of nowhere,” she said.

Wilson recalled being ordered to sit down and “link arms” with the other women.

“I’m petrified in the night they might want to take one of the girls or something. Luckily, we weren’t harmed,” she continued.

The following day they were released unharmed.

“The next day, they came and said, ‘oh, your truck is ready now you can go — go, go,’ you know. So we just didn’t ask any questions, we got back on that truck and just got back out of there and then crossed the South African border a few hours later,” Wilson recalled. “I think maybe those guys used us to smuggle illegal things in the bottom of the truck.”

Wilson made headlines last year after she shed more than 40 pounds to reach her goal weight. In an interview with People at the time, she said her weight loss journey was motivated by health.

“You never want it to be about the number, because it really isn’t about that. It’s [really] about: I was doing some unhealthy things to my body, and I just wanted to change it and become a healthier person,” she said.

“I would say to everyone out there don’t be obsessed about how much you actually weigh,” Wilson added. “It’s more about all the healthy practices, and then the changes to your whole lifestyle.”
