Update- The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) has identified the deceased man involved in a crash near Holton.

KHP identify the deceased as James A. Rolfe, 77, of Holton. According to the KHP crash logs, Rolfe was driving a Ford F250 southbound on M Road, while a semi-truck was traveling eastbound on K16. Rolfe did not yield at a stop sign on M Road that enters K16 that is intended for southbound traffic. The semi-truck hit the side of Rolfe’s F-250 and both vehicles stopped partially on K16 and partially in the south ditch.

HOLTON (KSNT) – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a crash west of Holton.

Sheriff Tim Morse says in a press release that first responders were called just before 2 p.m. on April 19 to an injury crash near K-16 Highway and M. Road west of Holton. Upon arrival, law enforcement found a semi-truck and trailer and a pickup truck were all involved in the crash.

At least one person is confirmed dead in the crash. K-16 Highway will be closed from L. to M. Roads while an investigation into the crash continues.
