Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson called President Donald Trump “a monster” after his administration opened an investigation into the mayor’s hiring practices.
The Department of Justice sent Johnson a letter this week announcing an investigation into his office’s hiring practices following his comments during a public appearance at a local church on Sunday.
“There are some detractors who will push back on me and say, You know, the only thing the mayor talks about is the hiring of Black people. No. What I’m saying is when you hire our people, we always look out for everybody else. We are the most generous people on the planet,” Johnson said at the time.
