China expert Gordon Chang told Newsmax on Thursday that the plan for artificial intelligence unveiled this week by President Donald Trump is “really important” for the world and “absolutely fantastic” for the United States.

The Trump administration on Wednesday released a plan to roll back regulations on AI technology and make U.S. software and hardware the “standard” for AI.

Chang told “Newsline” after the announcement, “I’m sure that [Chinese President] Xi Jinping is looking at this and saying that this could very well be the most important thing that President Trump is doing” in his second administration.
