8:50 p.m. ET: A New York Post report is offering grim new details on the shooting Monday evening at a Midtown skyscraper.

According to the report, a police officer and at least four others were shot and killed, and multiple others hurt, by a gunman who stormed the building before turning a gun on himself.

Casualty figures were expected to rise, Newsmax reported.
