The Trump administration is pausing the transfer of thousands of foreigners to the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba partly because of the riots in Los Angeles, reports Politico.
The unrest, one administration official told the news outlet, “got in the way.”
The report comes a day after Politico and The Washington Post reported that the administration was vetting at least 9,000 migrants for transfer to the base, including people from France, Britain, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, Haiti, and Italy.
