Sen. Ashley Moody, R-Fla., told Newsmax Wednesday the protests at the Capitol have gotten out of hand.
During a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing, protesters chanted, “No cuts to Medicaid.” Overall, 26 people were arrested.
“It’s an unfortunate event,” Moody said on Newsmax’s “Newsline.” “You have folks coming and disrupting the conversations about these really important issues and how we move forward as a country, a strong country that’s being a good steward of fiscal dollars. And we want to hear people’s opinions and voices. We are only here to represent the people throughout the nation, but we also have to be able to conduct business, especially in very important committee hearings where these discussions are taking place.”
