After Democrats walked out to protest Emil Bove’s nomination to become a federal appeals court judge, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, proceeded with the votes and advanced former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro to be the top federal prosecutor for the nation’s capital.
Senate Judiciary Committee Republican members voted unanimously Thursday to send Pirro’s nomination to the Senate floor.
Grassley, likely aware Democrats were going to just straight party-line vote “no” anyway, called for the vote, while Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., was talking and Democrats walked out of the hearing.
