House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said he understands the Senate will make some changes to the House-passed version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, but he still hopes the Senate will not “meddle with it too much.”

“I’ve been very consistent with our colleagues in the Senate,” Johnson told CNN’s “State of the Union” amid his trio of Sunday appearances on mainstream media networks, including CBS News’ “Face the Nation.” “We worked hand in glove with them all through this process, remembering that the House began this more than a year ago.

“It was March of last year when we got our committee chairs together and told them to begin to prepare for this massive reconciliation package.
